Maui Needs Your Help

On August 8th, 2023, the island of Maui was hit with 80mph winds from a hurricane passing south of the island. These winds caused trees and power lines to go down igniting a fire and then rapidly spreading embers across the island, sparking multiple fast spreading wildfires. This caused people to flee for their lives with over 100 people jumping into the ocean to escape the flames in hopes to be rescued by the coast guard. These fires caused catastrophic damage wiping out the entire historic town of Lahaina, 2700+ structures (86% Residential), countless acres of farmland and livestock, and unfortunately claiming the lives of more than 115 people – a number that is still tragically still rising as the search and rescue efforts are still in full swing. The impacts of this fire are going to be felt for decades to come. The island is going to need significant levels of monetary help from the rest of the nation. I created this website to organize resources for people to be able to help Maui in recovering and rebuilding. If you have more resources to add to the list, please email them to helpmauirebuild@gmail.com. Please try to include all information and links in an organized manner to help make keeping this website up to date smooth sailing.
